Welcome! Please feel like at home, albeit a
virtual one. On a business card, I write my name only. Here,
as a host, I would have to introduce myself better.

This is a new version of the site. The old content is still available here .
I was born (1952), grew up and studied (till
1969) in the town of
Pasvalys
in northern Lithuania. At Vilnius
University , I was taught journalism and Lithuanian philology. I
have worked mostly as an editor for cultural and literary
publications. I am a member of the
Lithuanian Writers' Union,
Lithuanian PEN Center ,
Lithuanian Association of Literary Translators ,
as well as a founding member of the Central and East European poetic movement Cap à l’Est .
I write poetry (15 books), essays, articles, even prose. As you can see here, I translate poetry from other languages, and my poetry gets translated as well.
Please come in.
